Banana Ball (Website) is bringing its entire league to Central Florida next spring. The Banana Ball Open will be played April 15 through 18 at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World, according to the official announcement, made earlier this evening at the 2027 Banana Ball City Selection Show. All six teams will be on hand for the four-day tournament; That includes the Savannah Bananas, Party Animals, Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Loco Beach Coconuts and Indianapolis Clowns.
The Open’s winner locks up a spot in the league playoffs. So it’s kind of a big deal, in the Banana Ball-verse anyway.
The league played two games at the complex in May, both in front of packed crowds, so we must have made an impression. Fans willing to make a short drive get another shot when the Loco Beach Coconuts will host the Savannah Bananas May 7 and 8 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The Coconuts will also play in Jacksonville March 5 and 6, Pensacola May 21 and 22, and Miami on September 11.
The ticket lottery is open now at BananaBall.com and closes October 31. Tickets start at $35, according to the official press release, but you can only get a ticket if your name is drawn.
Disney is going all in on the partnership with a Banana Ball documentary heading to Disney+ and Hulu in fall 2027, with 11 original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the duo behind “The Greatest Showman.”
The 2027 schedule was revealed Thursday night during a selection show on ESPN2. The league will play in 79 stadiums next year, including its first games in Mexico and Canada.
