4Roots Farm (Website) will host its fourth annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 24, with a pumpkin patch, U-pick fields, costume contests, live music, and a farmers market.

The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4Roots Farm, 1101 John Young Parkway [GMap], in Orlando’s Packing District. It’s presented by Disney and is open to all ages.

The event is a community celebration that brings together families, students, educators, and local residents. Activities include a pumpkin patch, U-pick vegetables and flower fields, crafts for all ages, a photo spot, and a Kids Zone with a bounce house, scavenger hunt, and face painting. Local food vendors and a farmers market will sell fresh produce and artisanal goods.

Costume contests begin at 10:30 a.m. for children, followed by groups at 11 a.m. and pets at 11:30 a.m. Prizes go to the funniest, most creative, and best overall costumes, with gift bags from Packing District businesses. And I’m the emcee, so come say hello.

4Roots is a nonprofit working toward what it calls a healthier, fairer, and more resilient food system. The farm campus serves as a hands-on learning space and community gathering place, with farmers’ markets, field trips, and education programs. Its executive director, Tommy Ward, describes the mission as “building solutions for a better food future.”
