Prato (Website) on Park Avenue in Winter Park is gearing up to reopen on Tuesday, November 4, following its month-long “riposo,” which is Italian for “rest.” The restaurant announced it would close on Monday, September 29, to take time to refresh the space, menu, and operations.
Prato will reopen on November 4 for lunch service, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., with dinner service at 5 p.m. at 124 N Park Avenue [GMap].
The team behind Prato used the downtime to update the dining room and bar, refine the cocktail and wine program, and strengthen partnerships with local farms. While the interior has been polished and the beverage menu expanded, we’ve been assured by Prato management that popular dishes like the Mustard Spaghettini and Prato Meatballs will remain on the menu.
Reservations for the reopening are now open, HERE.
The Michelin-rated restaurant was temporarily closed on July 8 of this year, after a state health inspection uncovered multiple violations, including mold in the ice machine, standing water in the cook line, cracked food-storage containers, and evidence of rodents and flying insects. The restaurant reopened the following morning after passing a follow-up inspection and issued a statement committing to heightened standards and a broader revitalization.
