EDITOR’S NOTE: We first wrote about Tanqueray’s Bar closing HERE, on December 19.

People piled in for one last drink at Orlando staple, Tanqueray’s Bar (Facebook | Instagram). There was a line down the sidewalk and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds inside. It’s been so busy that they’ve run out of draft beer, having only three bottled options left and a half-full liquor shelf. It speaks volumes to the type of establishment that’s been operating here for over 37 years.

The crowd remained at capacity for the entire night. The band filled the venue with music. Friends met to exchange stories and memories and take one last photo inside. Emotions ran high for some, and many intense discussions were had about the direction in which downtown is headed. A downtown without everyone’s favorite basement bar.

We’ll remember the smoky late nights under the glow of the ever-present Christmas lights. The pre-games before Orlando sporting events. And of course, the best happy hour in town. Thanks for everything, Tanqueray’s.
