We didn’t get access to the upcoming England vs. Costa Rica game on June 10, but we were thrown a bone to send Fabio Galizia (Instagram) to the June 6th match instead, where England defeated New Zealand 1-0 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The game was a pre-World Cup friendly, with captain Harry Kane scoring the only goal of the match on a first-half stoppage-time header off a cross from Djed Spence.
More than 25,000 fans filled the stadium for the match, which drew a mix of locals and international supporters but fans were divided on ticket prices, which ran between $75-$400.
England’s next match is Wednesday against Costa Rica at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando. The FIFA World Cup kicks off Thursday when Mexico hosts South Africa in Mexico City. The tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, features 48 teams across 104 matches.
