Orlando’s Parramore neighborhood is getting its own (micro)grocery store

The Desire Foundation (Website) says it is making tangible progress on The Parramore Market, a micro grocery store coming to one of Orlando’s most underserved neighborhoods sometime in the near future.

The 5,000 SF building is located at 536 N. Westmoreland Drive [GMap] and once complete will operate as a “light retail” model, like a neighborhood market, with a focus on providing a consistent supply of fresh, high-quality food.

The nonprofit has completed structural floor work, interior painting, carpet replacement in an attached community hub, and new branding developed in partnership with the team at Interstruct Design + Build (Website). The next big push is equipment like shelving, refrigeration, grocery carts, and fixtures, and funding to stock the shelves. The Desire Foundation has launched a Food Procurement Campaign with a $30,000 goal to cover initial inventory. Donations can be made HERE.

For businesses and organizations looking to get involved, the foundation is now offering partnership opportunities, including shelf naming rights, building naming rights, and a Fill a Shelf sponsorship program. Site visits are available for interested partners.
