Orlando Weekly is bringing back its crowd-favorite Best of Orlando Awards Night on Tuesday, August 18, at Plaza Live, marking the first official celebration since 2019.

The big event, billed as “the party of the year,” will feature a major twist this time: for the first time in the award program’s history, winners will be revealed live at the event before the results are publicly announced. The Best of Orlando issue will be distributed and results published online the following day, Wednesday, August 19.

“Best of Orlando is a celebration of everything that makes Orlando the creative, independent, and vibrant city that it is,” said Orlando Weekly publisher Graham Jarrett. “We want to see all of the finalists come out and celebrate together. Win or lose, being named a finalist is an accomplishment worth celebrating. This event is about recognizing the people, businesses, and organizations that help make Orlando the vibrant city that it is.”

Attendees can expect complimentary bites from Best of Orlando-nominated restaurants, live entertainment, live music, and opportunities to mingle with the finalists, winners, and organizations that shape Central Florida’s culture. It’s a veritable who’s who of Orlando bigwigs and personalities.

Another first: Tickets are no longer free and by invitation. They’re on sale now at orlandoweeklytickets.com, starting at $25 (before fees).

Voting remains open for the Best of Orlando readers’ poll, which determines the winners across categories including arts and entertainment, food and dining, local music, shopping and retail, health and wellness, and local notables.

Orlando Shine is up for multiple awards, including Best Podcast and Best Local Radio Show. Voting closes on July 15, HERE.
