ORDER A CHAD THE SANDBAG JERSEY FROM AT ORLANDOSHINESHOP.COM
We told you HERE on October 7 that the United Football League (Website) was asking fans to help choose the first official mascot for the Orlando Storm, the new franchise set to debut in the 2026 season.
The Storm are one of three expansion teams joining the league, with home games planned for Inter&Co Stadium in downtown Orlando. The fan vote is part of a larger push to build early support and community involvement, as the team prepares for its inaugural season. Thousands of mascot ideas were submitted earlier this fall, and league officials narrowed those entries to the three designs now up for public voting.
At the time, we tabled a few options of our own, including “Bolt the Panther,” “Surge the Lightning Bolt,” “Thor, God of Thunder,” and a very charismatic and heavily browed, “Chad the Sandbag.” Click right in our Instagram post below to see for yourself.
Well, they didn’t choose our man, Chad. Which was obviously a big mistake (don’t worry, we made a jersey for him anyway in our online store HERE), but you can now vote on three official finalists through December 7. Those finalists include a “Human-Storm Hero,” a bobcat, or a weather-themed godlike character (not necessarily, Thor, but we’ll take it). Tap the image below to vote on the Storm website.
