MilkShake Factory (Website), a Pittsburgh-born dessert brand with roots dating to 1914, is opening its first Central Florida location in Parramore on Saturday, July 25.
The new shop is located at 595 W. Church Street [GMap], Suite K, between the Kia Center and Inter&Co Stadium. They’ll be hosting a grand opening celebration runs from noon to 4 p.m. with buy-one-get-one-free on shakes, sundaes, and molten cups, free T-shirts for the first 100 customers, a gift basket for the first person in line, and a DJ.
The new location is owned by father-son franchise partners Capt. Miller Johnson III and Miller Johnson IV, under a three-store development agreement covering Central Florida. Capt. Johnson, a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and spent 30 years as an airline captain with UPS, first discovered the brand during regular work trips to Pittsburgh. After bringing his son along on one of those visits, the two decided to bring the concept home to The City Beautiful.
