Mattel, the toy and family entertainment company known for brands like Barbie and Hot Wheels, has announced plans to open a major indoor water park in Orlando in 2028, marking the launch of a new national attraction brand called Mattel Wonder Indoor Waterparks.

The Orlando water park will be the first of up to five planned in the United States. It is being developed in partnership with Martin Aquatic (Website), an Orlando-based engineering and design firm, along with American Resort Management and I-dentity Group. Plans call for a massive indoor complex with a retractable roof, allowing the park to operate regardless of weather and positioning it as a steady alternative to traditional outdoor water parks.

Attractions will be themed to several of Mattel’s best-known brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, and UNO. Early concepts include branded water slides, themed splash zones, wave pools, and lazy rivers designed to mirror the look and personality of each toy line.

While Mattel has not yet revealed the exact location or construction timeline details, company officials say they plan to make additional announcements as the project moves into its next phase.
