The Orlando Gaelic Athletic Association (Website) will host its annual O-Town Invitational and Camogie on Saturday, November 15, at Airport Lakes Park in Orlando, starting at 9 a.m.

The event features local squads competing in fast-paced Gaelic‐style field sports, and gives local spectators a rare opportunity to experience the craziness that is hurling and camogie.

Hurling and camogie are native Irish field sports played with a stick (called a hurley or camán) and a small ball (sliotar). These games are known for their speed, skill, and intensity, often described as a mix of hockey, lacrosse, and field hockey. The Orlando GAA Club has grown in recent years, and the Invitational helps raise the profile of these traditional sports in Central Florida.

Spectators are invited to arrive early — Opening Ceremonies and a welcome match typically begin in the late morning, with round-robin pool play followed by knockout rounds in the afternoon. The club recommends comfortable shoes, sun protection, and the possibility of bringing a chair or blanket for sideline viewing. Admission is free, and the after-party is taking place at The Castle Irish Pub in College Park, starting at 4 p.m.
