Horrorlando (Instagram) is hosting a free screening of “The Cabin in the Woods” on Tuesday, September 15, at BookBurn Cafe and Social.
Trivia kicks off the night at 7:45 p.m., followed by the screening at 8 p.m. The 2011 horror film, known for flipping genre conventions on their head, runs as part of a night organized for horror fans to gather, test their knowledge, and watch together. A raffle for a Blu-ray copy of the film follows at 9:45 p.m.
The film tells the story of five college students who visit a remote getaway (in the woods) for a fun weekend away. But they’re completely unaware that they’re being offered up as human sacrifices and being manipulated by technicians in an underground facility to appease ancient, bloodthirsty deities.
Admission is free, though organizers note that RSVPs do not guarantee a seat due to limited space, so early arrival is recommended. Free parking is available on site.
