Enzian Theater (Website) in Maitland will screen Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn on 35mm film on Tuesday, October 27, at 9:30 p.m.
The 85-minute 1987 cult classic is rated R and is part of Enzian’s 13+ Films of Halloween series, which runs through October 31 at the independent theater in Maitland.
Directed by Sam Raimi, the film stars Bruce “The Chin” Campbell as Ash Williams, whose getaway to a cabin turns into a night of demonic possession, gore, and disgusting slapstick comedy. Armed with a chainsaw, he fights forces unleashed by the Hellishly evil Necronomicon.
A featured cocktail, the Cabin in the Woods, is available at the Enzian bar through the series. It’s made with Bulleit Rye Whiskey, amaretto, cinnamon, maple syrup, and oak extract. Starting October 1, moviegoers get a punch for each screening, with bonus punches for themed drinks. Completed cards at the end of the month are entered for a chance at a $100 bar tab or an annual Enzian membership.
The series continues Wednesday, October 28, with a secret screening of a film that won’t be revealed until the lights turn off, and wraps up Saturday, October 31, with a Halloween party at Eden Bar followed by a midnight showing of Halloween II (1981).
