Inter&Co Stadium will host the England men’s national team for an international friendly against Costa Rica on Wednesday, June 10, marking the first time England has played at the Orlando venue and one of the first times the Three Lions have appeared on U.S. soil in more than 20 years.
The match is part of England’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off later that month across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. England is in Group L alongside Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. They’ll also be playing against New Zealand at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on June 6.
The two nations have met only twice before, according to a very detailed and helpful press release we received earlier today. They played to a 0-0 draw in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and England won 2-0 in a pre-tournament friendly ahead of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
