DLR Group (Website), the lead architect on Camping World Stadium’s $400 million renovation, released final renderings Tuesday showing how the venue will look when the project wraps up, which is good, because the renovations are supposed to be finished by August 2028.
The design wraps the stadium’s exterior in a curved metallic façade with programmable LED lighting that creates a “lampshade” effect at night. DLR Group lead architect Ryan Freeland has said the exterior was inspired by moving water and palm fronds. The lighting package can be customized for individual events, and the new renderings include an image of the stadium glowing in Jacksonville Jaguars teal and gold, complete with matching fireworks, ahead of the team’s temporary move to Orlando for the 2027 NFL season.
Inside, permanent seating will grow from roughly 63,000 to about 65,000. Upper-level bleacher seating will be replaced with individual seats that include backs and armrests. The Terrace Level concourse will be rebuilt and expanded with more concessions and amenities, and a new North Endzone Tower will close in the seating bowl, connecting suite and terrace levels that are currently separated.
Retractable seating in the south lower bowl will create room for a concert stage and make it easier to convert the stadium between football games, international soccer matches, concerts and other events. The project also includes new and renovated suites, redesigned arrival sequences and stadium-wide audiovisual upgrades.
Construction began in December 2025 and is expected to finish in summer 2027, with events continuing at the stadium throughout the work. The project is funded entirely through Orange County’s tourist development tax, the 6% tax charged on hotel and short-term lodging stays. Barton Malow and AECOM Hunt are managing construction.
