The Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (Website) is launching the first Daytona Beach Fishing Rodeo this month, with anglers competing for the longest Redfish, Snook, and Sheepshead caught on charter trips.

The rodeo runs November 1 through November 30, and there is no extra fee to enter after booking a trip with a participating charter captain at the captain’s regular rate. A list of participating captains, official rules, and more details are available HERE.

“The Daytona Beach Fishing Rodeo gives visitors another reason to get out on the water while supporting the local charter captains who help make fishing such an important part of our destination,” said Lori Campbell Baker, executive director of the CVB. “It also provides a fun way for anglers of different ages and experience levels to enjoy some friendly competition during their visit.”

The rodeo has Adult and Junior divisions. Anglers must book directly with a participating captain, who will measure and photograph eligible catches under the official rules and submit them through an online form. All catches must follow Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regulations.

The adult winner in each species category will receive a Daytona Beach fishing getaway, which includes a three-night stay at a participating local hotel and a charter fishing experience for a return visit. Junior winners in each category will receive a new rod and reel, a free fishing trip with a paying adult, and a tackle package from Southern States Fishin’ & Huntin’ Magazine.
