Creative City Project seeks artist pitches for IMMERSE 2027, kicking off with Aug. 12 launch event

Creative City Project (Website) is opening its call for artist submissions for IMMERSE 2027, with the whole process kicking off at an Artist Launch mixer event on Wednesday, August 12, at 7 p.m. at The Abbey, 100 S. Eola Drive [GMap].

IMMERSE began in 2012 as Creative City Project’s effort to stage art experiences in random downtown Orlando public spaces throughout the month of October. It has since grown into a full festival collaborating with more than 1,000 artists across performing arts, installations, media arts and visual arts. This year’s edition, held February 20-22, 2026, spanned 12 city blocks of downtown Orlando and included live performances, immersive installations and an art market, following a 2025 event that spread across 10 blocks. Check out Dallas Ward of Wo.Visuals‘ (Instagram | Website) amazing photos of the event HERE.

The link to submit ideas and creative pitches will go live on the festival’s website following the launch event. Attending the Artist Launch isn’t required to submit a pitch, nor does attending guarantee a submission gets accepted, but the gathering brings together past IMMERSE contributors and prospective new collaborators ahead of the formal application window, and gives people a chance to chat about their projects and possibly team up to create something even better. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP in advance.

Creative City Project says it’s looking for work that is unexpected, new, collaborative, meaningful, relational and responsive to its specific downtown setting, and it welcomes individual artists, collectives, companies and organizations working in any discipline, including forms not explicitly listed on the application.

Selected artists receive stipends that vary based on the scope of their performance or installation, awarded until the festival’s stipend fund is fully allotted. Artists chosen to participate will have a chance to flag scheduling conflicts during the application process, with final schedules set in November.

More information on submitting a pitch is available at immersefest.com/artists.
