Orlando Shine is a proud media sponsor of the Central Florida Tiny Desk Contest.
Central Florida Public Media will host the Central Florida Tiny Desk Contest Showcase on June 4 at The Beacham, featuring five finalists, chosen through public vote. The top 12 artists were announced on May 1, and community members can now vote for their favorites HERE, from May 1 through May 17.
The initial selection process involved a committee of seven music and cultural professionals from Central Florida who identified standout artists from hundreds of submissions before the top 12 were announced. This year’s selection committee members include Jim Faherty, founder of concert promotion company Figurehead; Michael McRaney, founder of Foundation Presents; Kate Clodfelter, Director of Live Music for Foundation Presents; Benoit Glazer, Artistic Director of Timucua Arts Foundation and former conductor for Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba; Eliza “E-Turn” Javaheri, hip hop artist and rapper; Kayla Bloomer from Central Florida Public Media’s Sponsorship Team; and Tirzah Shroyer from Central Florida Public Media’s Membership Team.
Tickets will go on sale on May 18 for a special listening party/concert on June 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. The showcase is part of Central Florida Public Media’s arts and culture programming that amplifies local voices and creates space for the region’s creative community.
