Black Phin Coffee Bar (Instagram), the Vietnamese phin-drip coffee shop that closed its Winter Park location little over a week ago, will reopen inside Bash & Brew (Website), an indoor playground and coffee lounge on East Colonial Drive in Orlando.
Owners Saeng and Linda Khouvongsavanh served their last cups at the Winter Park shop on October 11. The shop operated inside Harmon Collective, the converted warehouse at 1152 Harmon Avenue, that used to be home to Lombardi’s Seafood (it still sports the original Lombardi’s mural).
Bash & Brew was founded in September 2024 by husband-and-wife team TuMi Duong and Kha Tran. The roughly 3,000 SF space has play structures, a bounce house room, and two party rooms that can be rented for children’s birthdays. Kids pay a timed admission fee, and parents can use the café seating to chill out and breathe for once.
Before the partnership, Bash & Brew served its own Vietnamese-inspired iced teas and coffees, along with homemade Vietnamese desserts baked weekly by Duong’s mother.
Black Phin brews Vietnamese robusta coffee through traditional metal phin filters, a slow-drip method that produces a stronger cup than standard drip coffee.
Black Phin teased its next phase as “a new chapter in coffee.” Follow the shop on Instagram for updates on the opening date.
