Tako Cheena (Website) is leaving its longtime spot at 948 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] across from Wally’s Tavern and returning to its original location a few doors down at 932 N. Mills Avenue [GMap].
The restaurant announced the move today on social media, calling it “the Ultimate Throwback Thursday move,” saying, “We enjoyed 12 years of delicious Tako Cheena fun on the corner of Webber & Mills. Thank you to everyone who dined with us, & supported us there. Thanks to all the talented artists who added to our location’s flavor!” You can read the full statement below.
The 932 N. Mills space was most recently home to Pop’s Pizza, a sister concept from the same owners that has been closed for some time. It replaced Tako Cheena when it moved up the street into the former Forbidden Kingdom space.
OrlandoShine has heard that Tako Cheena’s lease at the corner location was not renewed. We tried to reach out to the owner of the building to confirm but had not heard back at the time of this post.
Tako Cheena said it will be open for lunch, dinner, and late night at the original location soon. No opening date has been announced.
“There are many more Tako Cheena memories to come,” the restaurant said.
