GO GET A HOT DOG
The Art & History Museums of Maitland (Website) is hosting its Spring Open House this Friday, May 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and it’s free.
The evening takes place in the museum’s gardens, with live fiddle music from Sharon Hartmann playing old-time Appalachian, Celtic, and bluegrass. Studio artists will be on hand in the art studios showcasing their work, with art demonstrations, and the museum store will be open for business. The student art sale features ceramics, mixed media, and paintings made by current students.
The current gallery exhibition, a loom, a fence, a wire, a thread, will also be open to explore. The Chief Curator will be grilling free hot dogs and veggie dogs while supplies last, and a cash bar with beer and wine will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own picnic food and blankets. Note: The campus is nut-free.
Admission is free, with donations welcome to support the museum’s community programs. The event is sponsored by Massey Services and supported by a Duke Energy Foundation grant.
