Affordable Finds spotlights homes under $350,000 in Greater Orlando and nearby counties. Full disclosure, some are better than others.
A farmhouse-style home we featured in June is back on the market at a lower price. The 3/2 house at 417 W. 6th Street [GMap] in Sanford, a few blocks from historic downtown, is now asking $329,000, down from the $349,000 it listed for in May.
It was under contract in early July. The listing came back on the market in mid-July at $349,000 and has since dropped twice, to $344,900 in August and to $329,000 on September 25. At 1,456 SF, that works out to about $226 per square foot.
The two-story home was built in 1901 and has since been remodeled. Vinyl plank flooring runs throughout. The kitchen has granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and both bathrooms have custom tile showers. There is an inside laundry room.
All three bedrooms are on the second floor, including a 13-by-13 primary with built-in closets. Downstairs are a living room, a separate dining room, and a dinette off the kitchen.
Outside, the house sits on an oversized, fully fenced corner lot of about 6,669 SF. It has a covered front porch, a carport, and driveway parking. A transferable termite bond comes with it.
Recent updates include the HVAC and water heater in 2015, a partial re-pipe in 2015, and electrical work in 2016. Those are now more than a decade old, so buyers may want an inspection. The home has a crawlspace foundation and no fireplace.
Property taxes are $5,175 a year, and there is no HOA. The listing accepts cash, conventional, FHA, and VA financing.
