A Hawaiian-inspired café from Germany is headed to downtown Orlando

A European café operator is bringing one of his concepts to downtown Orlando, with a little city funding to make it happen.

Hula Mula, LLC has signed a ten-year lease for a 2,753 SF space at 201 S. Orange Ave, Suite 105 [GMap] overlooking SeaSide Plaza, with plans to open an all-day café with approximately 44 seats. According to City paperwork, the Downtown Orlando CRA has approved a funding agreement offering up to $96,355 in tenant improvement reimbursements, covering buildout costs including plumbing, flooring, and electrical, plus $50,000 in rental assistance for the first year.

The operator behind the concept has run restaurants in Europe since 2019 across three locations, and the Germany-based Hula Mula (Website) was apparently recognized in 2024 as the Best Hawaiian-Inspired Health Food Café in Germany, according to CRA meeting minutes. The brand’s existing locations offer a menu built around smoothies, bagels, poké bowls, sushi, granola bowls, and coffee in a casual, health-forward café style.

An opening date has not been announced.
