A new photography exhibit featuring work by young Central Florida residents opens July 1 at the Lyonia Environmental Center (Website) in Deltona, giving the public a chance to see the River of Lakes Heritage Corridor (Website) through the eyes of local teenagers.
The River of Lakes Heritage Corridor invited photographers ages 12 to 17 to submit images across six categories: Flags on the Byway, Nature and Wildlife, Landmarks, Rivers and Lakes, Adventure and Recreation, and Hidden Gems. Selected images from the public submissions will be displayed at the center at 2150 Eustace Avenue [GMap] through August 28.
An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, July 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lyonia Environmental Center. Photographs will be judged by members of the center’s Photography Club.
The exhibit is timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence. Presenting sponsors are Quality Quick Print and Deltona District 2 Commissioner Emma Santiago.
