Cocina 214 (Website), a contemporary Mexican restaurant in Winter Park, will close its doors after 15 years of service, according to a statement they recently made on social media (which we’ve attached at the bottom of this post). The final day of service is scheduled for Friday, May 29.
According to the restaurant’s statement, their landlord sold the building, and new owners will begin the process of opening their own concept when Cocina 214’s lease expires on June 1.
“This decision has not come easily,” the restaurant said. “We explored many sites to relocate the restaurant, but ultimately have not found the right place.”
Cocina 214 opened in 2011 at 151 E. Welbourne Avenue [GMap], just off Park Avenue in Winter Park. The restaurant became known for its contemporary take on Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, and raked in a number of accolades through the years, including Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Tex-Mex, Best Overall Restaurant in Orlando, Best Happy Hour, and Best Family Place.
Over the next week and a half, the restaurant hopes customers will join them to enjoy their favorite dishes, share memories, and celebrate everything Cocina 214 has meant to the community. The restaurant asks that people make reservations online or by calling 407-790-7997.
“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives and this amazing community for the past 15 years,” the Cocina 214 team said. “It has truly been an honor.”
