Terramia Ristorante (Website) in Altamonte Springs will host a special Italian Wine Dinner on Wednesday, November 12, featuring Dominic Nocerino of Vinifera Imports (Website). The event begins at 6 p.m. and will include a tasting seminar and a four-course dinner with wine pairings.
According to his press release, Nocerino, founder of Vinifera Imports, is one of the most respected figures in Italian wine. Since 1979, he has been responsible for introducing many top Italian producers to the U.S. market, including Valdicava, Fontodi, and Sant’Elena.
Guests will start the evening with an aperitif of Destefani Prosecco before tasting a selection of rare Italian wines from regions such as Friuli, Veneto, Piemonte, Sicilia, and Toscana – all of which are easier to say if you make a mano a pigna – or pine cone hand. Highlights include the 2020 Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino, the 2004 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Madonna del Piano, and the 2018 Brigaldara Amarone Cavolo.
The dinner will feature dishes like scallop crudo, pappardelle with lamb ragout, and filet mignon with porcini risotto, each paired with complementary wines. Dessert will include a ricotta and pistachio mousse torta.
Tickets are $175 per person plus tax and gratuity. Seating is limited, and reservations can be made through OpenTable, HERE, or by calling Terramia Ristorante at 407-774-8466.
