PopUp Bagels (Website) opened its Winter Park location this Friday at 646 S. Orlando Avenue [GMap] near the Fairbanks intersection, and we were there to check it out.
The “Not Famous, but Known®” bagel shop has become one of the more talked-about bagel concepts in the country over the past few years, with locations across New York, Maine, California, North Carolina, and Florida. The Winter Park shop is part of their continued push through Florida, serving hot, whole bagels and rotating schmears done in the franchise’s trademarked “Grip, Rip and Dip®” way with no slicing, no toasting, no sandwiches. I’ll be honest, that’s how I eat my bagels, and I refuse to say they came up with the process.
For opening day, they rolled out a limited-time Grillo’s Pickle schmear alongside their regular rotating lineup. If you missed it this morning, the schmear is available while supplies last.
If Winter Park isn’t convenient, their Viera location opens next Friday, June 5, at 2105 Viera Blvd, Suite 106 [GMap].
