Pom Pom’s Sandwich owner distances herself from projects bearing her name, saying she is no longer involved

Cafe Collective Orlando (Instagram) has opened in the former Pom Pom’s Teahouse & Sandwicheria space on North Bumby Avenue. The business is in soft-opening mode and features a rotating lineup of local food partners, including vendors offering Vietnamese coffee, bánh mì, breakfast items, and weekend barbecue. The space is designed to host different pop-ups and short-term concepts, giving local chefs and small food businesses a place to operate without the cost of a full restaurant, according to recent posts on social media.

The new café replaces Pom Pom’s, which closed in late 2024 after nearly two decades at the location. Pom Pom’s founder, Pom Moongauklang, had plans to open a new venture in the space in cooperation with the current owners of Cafe Collective, but has recently confirmed she is no longer involved in the project, or any Pom Pom’s-branded restaurants, including the Sanford location in Henry’s Depot that still carries her name.

You can read her full statement below.
