Orlando Shine sent local photographer David Armas (Instagram | Website) to the 157th Silver Spurs Rodeo (Website) at Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, and he brought back photos from one of the largest rodeos east of the Mississippi.

The rodeo, an Osceola County tradition dating to the 1940s, features seven sanctioned Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events: bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, tie-down roping, and barrel racing.

The event champions from this year’s rodeo included:

  • Ty Chancey, who took home the all-around cowboy title, earning $1,520 across tie-down and team roping.
  • Margo Crowther (Instagram) who won barrel racing with a 16.12-second run.
  • Win Mardis (Instagram) claimed steer wrestling in 4.2 seconds.
  • The team roping title went to Keven Daniel and Parker Carbajal at 4.4 seconds.
  • Wyatt Lavergne (Instagram) won saddle bronc with an 87.5-point ride on Natalie.
  • Randall Carlisle took the tie-down roping championship.

Bull riding ended in a split decision, with Waylon Buquoi (Instagram) and Rooster McKeeman (Instagram) each posting matching 80.5-point rides.

This year’s rodeo royalty: Michaela Wall (Instagram) was crowned Miss Silver Spurs, with Isabella VanNostrand as first runner-up. Ivey Rousch was named Junior Miss Silver Spurs, with Tessa Ann McCommon as first runner-up. Emma Folsom took Little Miss Silver Spurs, with Sloan Leonardo as first runner-up.
