Chicago-bred singer/songwriter Petey (Website) will perform at The Beacham (Website) on February 27. The show is in support of Petey’s new Capitol Records album “USA,” which was released earlier this year.
According to his label, USA follows Petey’s 2022 debut “Lean Into Life.” He worked with co-producers John DeBold, who has produced for Wallows and Remi Wolf, and Aidan Spiro to create what Petey calls “an origin story of a typical American male in their 30s.” The album was mainly recorded at Gold-Diggers Sound in Los Angeles, and features Petey playing guitar, bass, drums, and synth.
“For me, making music has always been like throwing spaghetti at the wall, and working with John and Aidan allowed me to be reckless and experimental while giving each song the care it deserved,” Petey said in promotional materials. “It helped me fulfill the only real goal I had for the album, which was to make sure every single song would be super-fun to play live.”
Petey previously played drums in Chicago-based indie-rock band Young Jesus before launching his solo career at age 27. His debut single, “Apple TV Remote,” led to signing with indie label Terrible Records before moving to Capitol Records in 2022.
General admission tickets are $30, and doors open at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available for purchase HERE. Cdubz opens the show.
