Parramore Arts (Website) will present two exhibitions on Thursday, May 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Interstruct Design + Build, 814 W. Church Street [GMap], as part of 3rd Thursday (Website).
Angelo the Artiste debuts “CONNECTION,” a multimedia installation at ArtCube, a glass-fronted shipping container micro-gallery. According to the release, the installation will feature a “half-human, half-robot figure suspended in a factory setting, reflecting themes of self-growth, healing, and reinvention.”
The work includes exposed wiring, circuitry, disassembled computer parts, and objects sourced from the Parramore community. A stop-motion animation documenting the drawing process will play on repeat within the cube.
Angelo the Artiste is a self-taught Orlando-based artist with more than 16 years of experience specializing in surreal portraiture in graphite. In addition to studio work, he creates murals across Orlando.
“FUTURE PERSPECTIVES” features four artists debuting at Parramore Arts who will transform U-Haul trucks into pop-up galleries for one night. The exhibition includes work by Roberto Sébastien, Dessary Francis, Robb Johnson, and Ishaan Vadhera, curated by Damany Cruickshank.
An Artist’s Talk begins at 7:15 p.m. with free onsite parking and a shuttle to CityArts in downtown Orlando as part of Third Thursday.
