Orlando’s Helena Collective bring a Feminist retelling of Eve to Timucua this Sunday

Orlando all-female vocal ensemble The Helena Collective (Website) will take the stage at The White House this Sunday, March 22, with a concert called The Tender: From Eve’s Footsteps, which is a retelling of the biblical story of Eve through a female lens, woven together through song, poetry, and narration.

The performance is part of a broader mission by the group to center women’s voices and perspectives in classical vocal arts, a genre where female artistry has deep roots but doesn’t always get top billing. Its’ the last performance in Timucua Arts Foundation’s 2026 Opera Festival lineup.

Showtime is 7 p.m., and tickets are $30. Click HERE for more information.

Orlando Shine sent Brenda from Bithlo to meet up with soprano Sarah Purser and Timucua Arts Foundation ahead of this Sunday’s performance of Handel’s “Acis and Galatea” at The White House in SoDo, and honestly, it’s the crossover we didn’t know we needed. Opera Orlando’s Studio Artists bring this baroque pastoral to life this Sunday, March 22, at 7:30pm, part of the final weekend of the Timucua Opera Festival. Gods, monsters, a doomed love story, and some of the finest young voices in Florida. Tickets at https://timucua.com/opera-festival Don’t worry, Brenda isn’t singing this weekend.
