Orlando Sentinel toasting 150th Anniversary with four-beer series

The Orlando Sentinel has partnered with Ten 10 Brewing (Facebook | Website) to release four commemorative beers celebrating its 150th anniversary. The first beer, Orange County Reporter, launched this week and is a citrus ale named after the Sentinel‘s predecessor, Orlando’s first newspaper.

According to a report by Sentinel‘s amazing and talented Amy Drew, the brew is a take on Ten 10’s current blond ale recipe and made with Florida citrus peel and citrus-forward hops. “For this one, we really wanted to focus on that citrus, which brings out similar, orange and grapefruit forward flavors in the hops,” Michael Wallace, Ten 10’s owner/brewer, said.

A launch party takes place on February 26 at 7 p.m. at Ten10 Brewing, which will include a presentation by the Orange County Regional History Center about the region’s citrus industry. Tickets are available at OrlandoSentinel.com/RSVP.

Three more beers will be released throughout 2026, including Sentinel Star Stout, which arrives in spring. and Bavar’s Breaking News, a California common, is coming out in the summer, which salutes reporter Emily Bavar, who broke the news of Disney World’s arrival in Central Florida. ‘Tis a Privilege launches in fall, and is a nod to the paper’s longtime front-page slogan. The white stout features dark Belgian chocolate and local coffee from Barnie’s.

Ten10 Brewing is located at 1010 Virginia Drive [GMap] on the cusp of Mills 50 and Ivanhoe Village Main Streets.
