The Downtown Arts District and CityArts (Website) are accepting applications from muralists for the 2026 Orlando Mural Festival, with selected artists poised to create original large-scale murals throughout downtown Orlando.
Selected artists will receive paid commissions ranging from $3,000 to $25,000. The application is free, the theme is open, and local, regional, national, and international artists are all encouraged to apply. The application deadline is Wednesday, August 12, at 11:59 p.m.

The festival, presented by the Downtown Development Board, is now in its third year. It launched in 2024 with a single approved mural building and a stipend model for artists painting smaller, movable panels along Magnolia Avenue. Last year’s second annual event expanded to include both 8-by-8-foot walls on Magnolia Avenue and larger 20-by-13-foot murals painted directly on downtown buildings, alongside live music, food trucks, art vendors and a muralist team challenge where the audience voted on a winner.
The Downtown Arts District manages CityArts Orlando, a multi-purpose arts and cultural facility downtown, and runs public art initiatives and arts education programming throughout the year.
