Orlando City Hall was evacuated Monday morning after a bomb threat prompted police response and a partial closure of South Orange Avenue.
Orlando police responded to the 400 block of South Orange Avenue around 11 a.m. Employees and visitors evacuated from the building were directed across the street to the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts while officers investigated.
The Orlando Fire Department later confirmed the threat was not credible, saying, “ALL CLEAR: No credible threat discovered following investigation into suspicious incident. Scene has been cleared, and all personnel can return back to City Hall. Roadways expected to reopen shortly.”
Orlando police had also described the threat as not credible earlier in their own statement to the media. No further details on the nature of the threat have been released.
