Lightning vs. Panthers preseason game hits the ice on September 30

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers will face off in a preseason match at the Kia Center in Orlando on Tuesday, September 30, at 7 p.m.

The event is being hosted by the Orlando Solar Bears, the ECHL affiliate of the Lightning, and marks the seventh time Tampa Bay has played an exhibition game in Orlando. This showcase battle brings together two of Florida’s most intense hockey rivals. The Panthers enter the matchup as two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, making them a high-profile opponent. The Lightning, meanwhile, have deep playoff history with Florida, including multiple postseason showdowns.

Last season, these teams clashed in the Eastern Conference first round, with Florida emerging victorious in five games.

For Orlando fans, this is a rare chance to see NHL talent up close without leaving town. With both teams likely experimenting with lineups and giving younger players ice time, it’s also a window into what might come during the regular season.

Tickets are available HERE for purchase and start at $27.
