The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (Website) will launch a new family-geared stage production on December 22, inspired by The Jim Henson Company’s hit series, Fraggle Rock.
Fraggle Rock: A Space-y Adventure will be a live show running twice daily at 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. inside the Universe Theater, and admission is included with regular admission.
The production brings classic Fraggle Rock characters to the Space Coast for an original story written, directed, and choreographed by John Tartaglia, who also oversees creative direction for Fraggle Rock at The Jim Henson Company (Website). The cast includes Gobo and Red, along with the first-ever live-stage appearance of Uncle Travelling Matt. Puppet versions of the Doozers also appear. According to Kennedy Space Center’s announcement, the story begins when the Fraggles follow a mysterious postcard that leads them to NASA headquarters. Learning and hijinks ensue.
As part of the rollout, the Visitor Complex will host a limited-time “character breakfast” from December 21 through 30, with the exception of Christmas Day. The breakfast will feature themed food items and meet-and-greet opportunities with the show’s Fraggle Rock cast.
