Job Alert: Orlando Economic Partnership seeks vice president of economic development

The Orlando Economic Partnership (Website) is hiring a vice president of economic development to help lead the organization’s business recruitment and retention efforts. The position reports to the senior vice president of innovation and economic development and leads a team of business specialists focused on recruiting, retaining, and growing companies in the Orlando region.

Key responsibilities include developing and implementing economic development strategy, managing client and prospect relationships, coordinating cluster development for targeted industries, building relationships with site selection consultants, and conducting sales missions and trade shows outside the region. The role also includes securing corporate investment, maintaining relationships with government officials and economic development partners, and advising on financial incentives and infrastructure investments.

Required qualifications include strong business acumen, knowledge of business location and expansion factors, ability to develop business deals involving real estate and financial incentives, public speaking skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The position requires travel outside the region for up to one week at a time, three to six times annually.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 10 years of experience in economic development, sales, marketing, or a related field; at least five years of management experience; a master’s degree from an accredited university; consultative sales experience; and economic development certifications.
