A new kind of private social club is coming to Orlando this winter. Hamlin House (Instagram), a 28,000 SF venue combining pickleball courts with chef-driven dining and a fancy social club setting, is set to open at 231 W. Grant Street [GMap] in the city’s SoDo neighborhood.
Created by Ryan and Michelle DeVos, co-owners of Major League Pickleball’s Orlando Squeeze (Website), describe it as a place where sport, style, and community intersect, offering a mix of “athletic programming and elevated hospitality.”
Membership options include Racquet Memberships, which provide full access to courts, leagues, clinics, and instruction, and Social Memberships, which focus on dining, cultural events, and lifestyle programming. Both are available for individuals, families, and corporate groups.
Hamlin House will feature a full-service restaurant for lunch and dinner, a café with all-day service, courtside refreshments, and an outdoor patio for dining and lounging. The name pays tribute to the Hamlin orange, created by A.G. Hamlin, which gained popularity during the Great Florida Freeze of 1895-95 due to its cold-hardiness..
The club’s food and beverage program will be led by Chef John Fraser and JF Restaurants, the group behind the Michelin-starred Lilac at The Tampa EDITION. Beverage Director Amy Racine, named “Beverage Director of the Year” by both Wine Enthusiast and Esquire, is also contributing to the project.
Hospitality veteran Ashley Turner will serve as general manager, overseeing operations and membership. Turner previously led external affairs and partnerships for UCF’s DeVos Sport Business Management Graduate Program and managed premium activation efforts for the Orlando Magic.
Hamlin House was designed by Baker Barrios Architects and is being built by DPR Construction. An opening date is not public at this time, but membership signups are currently available online.
