A 29-year-old woman identified as Kristin Galli was arrested after allegedly making a bomb threat against the University of Central Florida while intoxicated earlier this summer.
Authorities arrested Galli late Saturday night, following up on a complaint that Galli had phoned UCF Student Care Services, threatening to “blow you guys up.” In addition to the call, she reportedly sent more than 200 erratic text messages and selfies to a professor, prompting campus police to intervene.
When officers located Galli, they noted her unusual appearance: smudged face makeup with streaks of green-dyed hair, leading them to believe she was inspired by a certain comic book/movie villain. Witnesses said she appeared highly intoxicated and was slurring her words. Despite the alarming threat, no explosive device was found, and officials confirmed that the campus was never in immediate danger. Galli admitted to the police that she made the calls because she “was angry” and “thought it would be funny,” while under the influence.
Galli was taken into custody without incident and now faces charges related to making false bomb threats and misuse of communication devices. UCF Police emphasized that all threats are treated as credible until proven otherwise and reassured students and faculty that the campus remains safe.
