Enzian Theater to screen “Misery” as part of Rob Reiner retrospective this month

The Enzian Theater (Website) in Maitland is bringing a classic thriller back to the big screen with three showings of Misery scheduled over the next two weeks as part of its ongoing “These Go to 11: The Films of Rob Reiner” series.

The 1990 adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, directed by Rob Reiner and starring James Caan and Kathy Bates, will be screened at the theater on Friday, February 13 at 9:30 p.m., Sunday, February 15 at 9 p.m., and Tuesday, February 17 at 6:30 p.m. as part of the retrospective lineup that showcases five of Reiner’s most iconic films, including A Few Good Men, The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, and When Harry Met Sally…

Misery tells the story of bestselling novelist “dirty bird” Paul Sheldon (Caan), who is rescued from a car crash by a self-described fan, Annie Wilkes (an Oscar-winning performance by Bates). What starts as a seeming act of kindness turns into a really terrifying experience as it turns out Wilkes is totally bonkers.

Tickets start at $11.50, or you can purchase a pass for all five Rob Reiner films for $50. More information is available HERE.
