The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (Website) has announced the launch of its annual free holiday festival, the Frontyard Holiday Festival, supported by AdventHealth. The open-air event, held in front of the downtown venue, will transform its “front lawn” into a seasonally decorated holiday hub through a partnership with AdventHealth.

The festival, launching on December 4, will feature a mix of live outdoor performances, family-friendly holiday installations, and interactive programming through January 4. During that window of time, the Center will host over 80 live performances, light displays, fire pits, nightly “snow” selfie moments, and an illuminated Christmas tree near the main entrance on South Street, with a nightly tree lighting ceremony.

Outdoor movie screenings will include classics like Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch, The Polar Express, The Santa Clause, A Christmas Story, and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

They’ll also be hosting a special New Year’s Eve family celebration on December 31 with a DJ playing holiday mashups, LED wands, and a 9 p.m. community countdown to welcome the New Year, so you’re out of downtown before the real party starts, and you’ll have to explain what a g-string is to your kid.
