Corner Chophouse (Website) in Winter Park will host a Bourbon Dinner with Heaven Hill Distillery (Website) on Thursday, September 24, at 6:30 p.m.
The evening includes a guided bourbon tasting alongside a multi-course menu prepared by Executive Chef Nick “I Have A Giant Beard” Billings. A Heaven Hill representative will lead the tasting and share the story behind each pour.
Billings has served as executive chef at Corner Chophouse since it opened, a concept from Indigo Road Hospitality Group that marked the company’s first location in Winter Park. Corner Chophouse combines classic steakhouse dishes with regional ingredients and contemporary cooking techniques. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in Orlando. He began working in restaurants at age 18, starting as a dishwasher before working his way up through the kitchen ranks. He later served as executive sous chef at Grace Prime Steakhouse in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and most recently was executive chef at Mecha in Washington, D.C., before returning to Central Florida to lead the kitchen at Corner Chophouse.
