Call for Artists: Applications now open for 2026 Winter Park Paint Out

The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens (Website) is now accepting applications for the 18th annual Winter Park Paint Out, scheduled to run April 19–25, 2026. The next installment of the annual plein air event invites 24 artists to paint publicly across Winter Park and Orlando, with the resulting works to be exhibited and sold to support the Museum.

The Paint Out has grown into one of Florida’s longest-running plein air festivals. Over its 16-year history, more than 100 artists have produced more than 4,000 original paintings, nearly 1,500 of which have sold, generating over $1.1 million in support for the Museum.

Participation is juried and open to local, out-of-state, and international plein air artists. There is no application fee. Applicants must submit three recent plein air works (no studio paintings), with all applications due by midnight Eastern Time on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Once selected, artists must commit to the full week of in-person painting, from April 19 to April 25, and attend the concluding Garden Party on Saturday evening, which serves as both a social event and an opportunity to present painted works.

The 2026 event features two phases: a live, weeklong plein air session and a subsequent online sale of remaining artwork, running from April 26 through May 31, 2026. During the online sale, artists retain the right to make direct sales to collectors, though the Museum respectfully requests a 50 percent donation of any such sales.

Forty-two plein air artists contributed to the most recent event, generating more than 250 original works and offering free public demonstrations throughout the week.

The Winter Park Paint Out offers both seasoned and emerging artists an opportunity to engage audiences directly, and contribute to the Museum’s conservation and educational mission.
