Barry Manilow is bringing the Manilow Music Teacher Award back to Orlando as part of his national farewell tour, which stops at the Kia Center on January 7. The award, created through the Manilow Music Project (Website), recognizes exceptional music educators who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their students and programs.

In each city on the tour, the public can vote for local nominees, and the teacher with the highest number of votes will be honored live onstage during Manilow’s performance. The winner receives a $10,000 package: a $5,000 personal cash award and $5,000 in “Manilow Bucks” to purchase instruments or equipment for their classroom. Voting for the Orlando stop is open through December 15, with the winner expected to be announced at the end of the month.

Nominees for Orlando include Michael Antmann (Freedom High School), Jon Brown (University High School), Michael Clemente (Winter Park High School), Rhett Cox (Timber Creek High School), Mario Ford (Evans High School), Bernard Hendricks (Ocoee High School), Raine Hollingsworth (Dr. Phillips High School), Hannah Jennings (Lake Nona Middle School), Marc Kolodinsky (Windermere High School), and Naomi Nelson (Jones High School).
