The Sanford Historical Society (Website) is hiding rubber ducks across downtown Sanford all summer long, and kids have until July 24 to find them and cash them in for prizes.
The Great Sanford Duck Hunt runs through July 18, with 20 patriotic rubber ducks tucked into participating downtown businesses each week starting June 20. Each duck has a unique number and information on the bottom that leads to a prize. Kids who find one can bring it to the Sanford Museum to claim patriotic toys, treats, and coupons from local businesses.
The hunt is free to participate in and open to kids 12 and under, and limited to one duck per child. The last day to redeem a found duck is July 24.
The event is tied to America’s 250th birthday celebration.
