The Queers (Facebook) have been playing punk rock since 1981, formed in Portsmouth, New Hampshire by guitarist and vocalist Joe “Queer” King. Over four decades, they’ve released 13 studio albums and 22 EPs, earning a loyal following in the pop-punk world. Their 1990s run, Love Songs for the Retarded, Don’t Back Down, and Punk Rock Confidential, remains their most celebrated work, mixing Ramones-style punk with Beach Boys harmonies.
