Orange County Library System offering free job seeker courses throughout March

The Orange County Library System (Website) is hosting free job search workshops throughout March at library branches across the county. The courses cover resume building, interview skills, job searching, and LinkedIn Learning. All courses are open to ages 18 and up and require registration through attend.ocls.org.

Workshops include:

  • Prepare for Your Job Search, which teaches strategies to identify skills and succeed in job hunting. The course runs at nine library locations from March 2 through March 31, including Orlando Public Library, West Oaks, Hiawassee, Washington Park, South Trail, Winter Garden, North Orange, Eatonville, and Southeast branches.
  • Job Seekers Spotlight, which introduces LinkedIn Learning as a resource to improve job skills. Sessions are scheduled at Eatonville on March 2 at 3:30 p.m., Washington Park on March 9 at 4 p.m., Southwest on March 21 at 10:30 a.m., and Southeast on March 31 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Improve Your Job Interview Skills will cover the interview process and preparation tips. The course is offered at six locations, including Orlando Public Library on March 4 at 4 p.m. and March 26 at 11:30 a.m., West Oaks on March 10 at 11:15 a.m., Windermere on March 10 at 11:45 a.m., Hiawassee on March 23 at 1:30 p.m., and Washington Park on March 26 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Build and Perfect Your Resume is meant to help participants transform their talents and experiences into resumes. Sessions run at seven locations from March 3 through March 25, including West Oaks, Windermere, Hiawassee, Orlando Public Library, South Trail, Washington Park, and Eatonville.
  • Search and Apply for Jobs teaches best practices for finding and applying for jobs. The course is offered at six locations, including Windermere on March 3 at 11:45 a.m., West Oaks on March 10 at 10 a.m., Washington Park on March 12 at 4:30 p.m., Hiawassee on March 16 at 1:30 p.m., Orlando Public Library on March 19 at 11:30 a.m., and Eatonville on March 31 at 11:30 a.m.
