Orlando City SC announced Friday morning that longtime goalkeeper Pedro Gallese will depart the club following the conclusion of his contract, closing a six-year run.

General Manager and Sporting Director Ricardo Moreira called Gallese “an incredible ambassador” who helped shape the club’s modern identity. “His professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment helped shape the culture that we have today,” Moreira said. “As a player, he delivered countless unforgettable moments, setting club records for appearances, minutes played, saves, wins, and clean sheets.”

Over six seasons in purple, Gallese made 201 appearances, all starts, becoming Orlando City’s all-time leader in multiple categories: minutes played (18,188), saves (568), wins (89), and clean sheets (57). Gallese earned the 2022 MLS Save of the Year for a late diving stop against Atlanta United and represented Orlando at the 2021 MLS All-Star Game alongside Nani. His contributions helped the Lions secure the 2022 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, reach six consecutive playoff appearances, and advance to the Eastern Conference Final in 2024.
