RENDERING VIA CITY OF WINTER GARDEN
The City of Winter Garden will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Tucker Ranch Holistic Health & Wellness Park and Botanical Garden on Friday, October 23, according to the official press release we received late yesterday.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at 100 Avalon Road [GMap] in Winter Garden, in western Orange County. Guided group tours and refreshments follow from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The gates are expected to open from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public.
The new 25.6-acre park is an addition to the 209-acre Tucker Ranch Park and Nature Preserve. Construction began with a groundbreaking in August 2024 and was completed on time in just over two years. The park includes a botanical garden, nature paths, a labyrinth, and a trail system with exercise stations. A boardwalk and a roofed pavilion over the water are also part of the design. The new Retreat Center is a 5,000 SF indoor venue with a screened patio. The Ranch House has a demonstration kitchen and an outdoor patio with a fireplace.
The original West Orange Country Club stood on the property in the 1910s before it closed in 1924. The property later became a cattle ranch and then a campground on the shore of Johns Lake. Winter Garden bought the land from Corinne Tucker in 2011 for $2.1 million.
